  Almost all puffer fish contains tetrodotoxin, A substance which makes them foul tasting and also lethal to fish. Tetrodotoxin is around 1200 times more poisonous than Cyanide which can kill 30 adult humans and still there is no known antidote. Gallbladder is the most poisonous part of Puffer fish. It is also named as Fugu in Japan. It gulps water and grow bigger like a ball.

  • Length of Puffer Fish is around 2.5 cm ( 1 inch ) to 61 cm (2 feet ).
  • Found in tropical regions of South America, Africa and Southeast Asia
  • Puffer fish have 4 teeth. All together those 4 teeth forms a beak-like shape. 
  • There are more than 120 species of puffer fish worldwide.
  • Adult puffer fish weigh 20 to 30 pounds (9 to 13.5 kg).
  • Sharks are able to eat the puffer fish without becoming harmed. 
  • Life span:   4 to 8 years.

Scientists are unsure of the source of poison dart frogs toxicity, but it is possible they assimilate plant poisons which are carried by their prey, including ants, termites and beetles. Poison dart frogs raised in captivity and isolated from insects in their native habitat never develop venom.

Poison dart frogs, like this sapphire-blue species, are highly toxic. Their brilliant colors broadcast a warning to potential predators: Keep away. Strawberry poison dart frogs are less venomous to humans than other poison dart frogs, but their toxins will cause swelling and a burning sensation.

Poison dart frogs are carnivorous animals that survive on a diet purely made up of meat. Poison dart frogs shoot out their long, sticky tongues to catch flies, ants,insects, spiders and termites. Due to the high toxin levels produced by the poison dart frog, it has very few predators in the wild.

  • Most species of poison dart frogs are small, sometimes less than 1.5 cm (0.59 inch) in adult length, although a few grow up to 6 cm (2.4 inch) in length.
  • They weigh 1 oz. on average.
  • Found in tropical regions of Central and South America.
  • Life span: In wild 1 to 3 years, while in captivity upto 25 years.


3. Stonefish :

Stonefish are found in the coastal regions of the Indo-Pacific oceans as well as Florida and the Caribbean. 
It can easily kill you if you step on it, injecting its venom deep inside your foot. If not treated promptly, the poison will kill you. It has stout dorsal fin spines which can inject an extremely poisonous venom. 


  • Average length of stonefish is around 30 to 40 centimetres. 
  • Weighs up to 2 kg / 5lbs. 
  • Venomous sacs on each one of its 13 spines.
  • Life span: 5 to 10 years.

The deathstalker is regarded as the most dangerous species of scorpion. . Its venom is a powerful mixture of neurotoxins, with a low lethal dose. Its range of distribution includes North Africa and the Middle East. In Africa, they inhabit in Libya, Mali, Somalia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Sudan, Chad, Algeria, Niger, and Tunisia. In Asia, they live in Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Turkey, among others.

  • Their poison cause cardiovascular and respiratory dysfunction.
  • length ranging from 1.1 to 3.0 inches with an average of 2.2 inches.
  • weighs upto 2.5 grams.
  • Two eyes are visible on the top of the head, while the other pairs are along both frontal sides of the head.

There are over 800 different species of cone snails.They live in the Indian and Pacific oceans, the Caribbean and Red seas, and along the coast of Florida. They are not aggressive.This group of sea snails shows a large variety of colors and patterns, and local varieties and color forms of the same species often occur.

  • Cone snails are carnivorous, and predatory.
  • cones grow to about 6 inches (15 centimeters) in length and have intricately patterned brown-and-white shells highly prized by shell collectors.
  • Ironically, among the compounds found in cone snail venom are proteins which, when isolated, have enormous potential as pain-killing drugs. Research shows that certain of these proteins target specific human pain receptors and can be up to 10,000 times more potent than morphine without morphine 's addictive properties and side-effects.

The blue-ringed octopus species live in tide pools and coral reefs in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, from Japan to Australia.This octopus's bite can kill a human because the venom causes paralysis that stops breathing.  Blue ringed octopus's venom is enough to kill ten grown men.

  • Generally measure less than 2 mm in diameter.
  •  They weigh only 28 grams.
  • body length upto 5 cm long and arms to 10 cm.
  • Life span: 2 years


 7. Inland Taipan:



The inland taipan, also commonly known as the western taipan, the small-scaled snake, or the fierce snake, is an extremely venomous snake of the taipan genus. Can be found in central east part of Australia.  It makes a threat display by raising its forebody in a tight low S-shaped curve with its head facing the threat.The average quantity of venom delivered by this species is 44 mg and the maximum dose recorded is 110 mg.

  •  Its venom is about 50 times more toxic that the king cobra venom.
  • Their fangs are between 3.5 to 6.2 mm long.
  • Average length of this species is 1.8 metres, can reach a total length of 2.5 metres.
  • Life span: In captivity these snakes normally live for 10 to 15 years. 


8. Box Jellyfish:



Box jellies, also called sea wasps and marine stingers, live primarily in coastal waters off Northern Australia and throughout the Indo-Pacific. They are pale blue and transparent in color and get their name from the cube-like shape of their bell. Up to 15 tentacles grow from each corner of the bell and each tentacle has about 5,000 stinging cells, which are triggered not by touch but by the presence of a chemical on the outer layer of its prey.

  • Sea turtles are unaffected by the sting of the box jellyfish and regularly eat them.
  • Their venom is considered to be among the most deadly in the world, containing toxins that attack the heart, nervous system, and skin cells.
  • They are capable of achieving speeds of up to 1.5 to 2 metres per second or about 4 knots (7.4 km/h; 4.6 mph).
  • A fully grown box jellyfish can measure up to 20 cm (7.9 inches) along each box side or 30 cm (12 inches) in diameter.
  •  tentacles can grow up to 3 m (9.8 ft) in length. Its weight can reach 2 kg (4.4 lb)
  • Life span: 88 Days.
